About the speaker:

José Abdelnour Nocera is a Professor of Sociotechnical Design and Head of the Sociotechnical Group for Innovation and User Experience at the University of West London. He is the current Chair of the UNESCO IFIP TC 13.8 working group in Interaction Design and International Development and Chair of the British Computer Society Sociotechnical Specialist Group. His interests lie in the sociotechnical and cultural aspects of Information Technology design and use. In pursuing these interests, he has been involved in several projects in the UK and overseas in the domains of health, education, social and economic development, cultural heritage, e-government and enterprise resource planning systems. Professor Abdelnour-Nocera gained a BA (Hons) in Social Communication at the Catholic University Andres Bello and an MSc in Social Psychology from Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela, and a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from The Open University, UK.
