METRO Blind Sport have partnered with Goalball UK, Sportsworks, Ealing Council and GLL to deliver multiple sport and physical activity opportunities for blind and partially sighted people at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub.

Starting from this Sunday, July 11, two-hour sessions will take place every Sunday, led by qualified coaches in a COVID secure environment.

The sessions will include football, tennis, cricket and goalball, as well as many other activities throughout the year.

The sports are all adapted specifically for blind and partially sighted people, using adapted equipment, and will rotate on a weekly basis to provide opportunities for people to try new things.

Charlie Raven, Sport Development Officer at Metro Blind Sport said: "As the charity continues to grow, we are incredibly excited to be extending our reach towards West London to deliver more sport and physical opportunities at this great new facility in Gunnersbury Park.

"We believe these weekly sessions can have a significantly positive contribution towards the social, physical and mental health of visually impaired people within the local community and across London.

Alex Bunney, Participation Lead at Goalball UK said: "We are delighted to be involved in this visual impairment specific multi-sport project alongside Metro Blind Sport and other key partners.

"The Hub at Gunnersbury Park in West London is a key location for us as we look to grow the number of accessible opportunities for people to play goalball in the capital".
