THE PTA at Fielding Primary School in West Ealing will be repeating their Reindeer Poop Bingo fundraiser following its tremendous success, this time raising money for Ealing Foodbank.

Last week, on December 17, 608 squares were painted across the football field and a reindeer spent two hours walking around and pooping.

Yes, you read that right; parents were invited to buy squares where they thought the reindeer would poop and if they were correct, they would win a cash prize.

First place (so the first square the reindeer pooped in) received £150, second place £75 and third place £50.

Nolan O'Connor, is the Chair of the school's PTA and he told Nub News: "Our usual fundraisers, like the Christmas fair have had to be cancelled because of the pandemic, so we had to come up with new, alternative ways to raise money.

"The school's caretaker came up to me last month and said we should paint squares on the football field and use a cow to play poop bingo.

"I loved the idea, but thought that a reindeer would be even better as it's more Christmassy and put the idea forward to the rest of the PTA."

O'Connor hadn't realised how difficult it would be to secure a reindeer last minute however.

He said: "Apparently if you want a reindeer to make an appearance, you have to book it from March."

Luckily he managed to find one available and the fundraiser went ahead, with huge success.

The dad-of-two said: "We sold all 608 squares within a couple of days, it was brilliant!

"I live streamed the event on Facebook and parents were watching from home commenting and asking for shout outs.

"Some even messaged me saying they didn't manage to get any work done during those two hours because they were too immersed in watching the reindeer and trying to see where he would poop."

Following the fundraiser's success, raising over £4,000, the PTA thought it would be a good idea to run the event again and this time raise money for a local charity.

"The field is already painted and the school has close links with Ealing Foodbank, so everyone thinks it's a great idea," he added.

The upcoming event will take place on Tuesday, December 29 at 10:30am and everyone will be able to watch from home via Facebook Live.

Squares are still on sale and can be bought HERE and cost £5.50 (including booking fee).

When asked if anyone can buy squares or whether they are only available to parents from the school, O'Connor replied: "Not at all, we actually had a square bought by someone in Canada."
