Placement Officer
Location: Ealing
Salary: £35,577.00 - £36,567.00 per annum inclusive. Grade 7
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Placements Officers to join the dedicated and dynamic Adults Placements Team.
The Team plays a critical role Adults Social Services Department and makes a positive contribution to the lives of vulnerable adults living in the borough. The team is responsible for the sourcing and commissioning of placements and accommodation for adults and young people. The role involves working closely with social work teams across the learning disability, physical disabilities, older persons, and mental health service areas and the external care home and supported accommodation markets.
This is a demanding role, offering variety and an opportunity to learn new skills and develop your knowledge. The successful postholder will be someone who can communicate and negotiate effectively both verbally and in writing to achieve the best outcomes for borough residents and secure best value for the Council. You will be offered regular supervision and support, access to training opportunities, and experience the benefits of working with friendly and supportive colleagues.
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent negotiating skills
- An understanding safeguarding adults protocols
- Experience of IT systems e.g. Mosaic
- An ability to focus on delivering prompt and effective outcomes
- An understanding of the client finance assessment process
- An ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload
- Experience of inducting and supporting new staff
- An ability to work within a demand led service with conflicting deadlines.
- Substantial experience working in a health and / or social care setting
- A working knowledge of Mosaic, Abacus and RIO database systems
