Greenford to Northolt Village Walk

Greenford to Historic Northolt Village Walk

10.30am Monday 6 June 2022 / Monday 27 June / Monday 11 July / Monday 8 August / Monday 5 September

Distance: 5.5 miles / 9km Duration: 3 hours

The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.

This is a circular walk that starts walking over/below Horsenden Hill, through the parks of Ealing, along the tow paths of the Grand Union Canal to reach the historic village of Northolt. Enjoy the wildlife in the fields and canal before reaching Northolt Village to explore the historic site of St Mary's Church and the remains of Northolt Manor House. Documented evidence proves that this area was inhabited from 962 AD.

Moderate pace, mainly flat with ascent to Horsenden Hill (optional) and Belvue Park.

Refreshments and toilets available in The Crown Pub, Northolt and The Ballot Box, Greenford. A complimentary soft or hot drink will be provided at the end of the walk.

Meet in the car park opposite Ballot Box Pub (nearest tube is Perivale / nearest station is Sudbury Hill)

The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.

If you wish to come to more than one walk you need to register for each separate date.
