Southfield Councillors Gary Busuttil Gary Malcolm and Andrew Steed

The three Southfield Liberal Democrat Councillors have been running our monthly advice sessions for a couple of months since the Covid restrictions changed; some we ran outside to enable us to meet residents and listen to their concerns.

Since the tragedy of the MP Sir David Amess, who was murdered at his surgery, we have updated our plans to ensure that we and residents are safer but still able to meet with residents to hear problems they have with Ealing Council.

Pollution in and around the canal has reached an appalling level in my "patch".

I live in Maida Vale and enjoy canal walking between Little Venice and Paddington Basin. I also like the stretch between Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove (where I often do my shopping in the large Sainsbury's there).

Many of us over the past week have been shocked and upset to see the Taliban take over Afghanistan. Knowing their history we can expect lots of deaths as the Taliban step up the search for "collaborators".

President Biden, who I would normally agree with, has clearly made a totally reckless decision in the way that he hungered for his troops withdrawal without clearly having a coherent exit plan. To now blame the Afghanis is very offensive.
