BOTH Parkrun events in Ealing Borough have been granted permission to return on June 26.

Parkrun UK made the announcement yesterday (June 7) on Twitter, confirming that both Gunnersbury Park and Northala Fields Parkruns will be returning very soon, paying special thanks to Gunnersbury Estate CIC, along with both Ealing and Hounslow Councils.

Ealing Running Mayor, Tom Kerry, also confirmed the news that both events are due to return in less than three weeks' time and is keeping his fingers crossed for other Parkruns across the country.

"Now waiting to find out nationwide picture but looking promising", he tweeted.

This comes as Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, published an open letter last month advocating for the return of Parkrun, describing it as a 'London success story'.

It was first announced in February that Parkrun would be allowed to return nationwide on June 5, but last month it was announced that this had in fact been delayed.

A final decision on all Parkrun events will be made this Friday, June 11.
