1. Ealing: Man faces a £1.4m penalty for planning breach
A man was handed a £1.4m penalty under the Proceeds of Crime Act after he continually broke planning rules and then refused to follow legal orders.
Ali Bahbahani, of no fixed address, was ordered to pay £1,283,444 for converting a home to create flats, including an extension, in Waldegrave Road, Ealing, without planning permission and then not complying with orders to cease the use and demolish the unauthorised extensions.

2. Plans to convert an empty office into three flats have been submitted to Ealing Council
An application was put forward to Ealing Council for the conversion of an office and garage into three new flats in Acton
Planning By Design proposed to retain part of an office on Park Parade, Acton but convert the vacant back office and garage into one studio with the upper floors maisonette into two flats.

3. Developers win approval for 504 student rooms and office space in Uxbridge Road, Ealing
Developers were granted permission to build a 10 to 20 storey student accommodation and office space on the vacant Exchange Plaza on Uxbridge Road, Ealing.
Ealing Council's planning committee agreed to the plans from developers CEG to bring 504 student bedrooms, 35% (177) of which would be affordable, to the area on 7 August.

4. Proposals put forward to turn a Greenford home into a HMO for up to six people
An application was submitted to Ealing Council to turn a property in Greenford, Ealing into a 'small-scale' house in multiple occupancy (HMO) of up to six residents.
David Mansoor Consultants plan to turn a mid-terrace single family home in Wadham Gardens, Greenford into an HMO as well as add two single-storey rear extensions, a garden room outbuilding to the rear of the site, plus the conversion of the existing loft space to include a rear dormer window.

5. Demolition of asbestos garage proposed for new unit in Ealing
An application was submitted to Ealing Council to demolish an asbestos-ridden garage to make way for a new unit.
The privately owned abandoned garage is by Castlebar Park Road, Ealing.
It was one of four garages constructed as part of the Queens Walk House Development but has since been sold as a standalone plot outside the larger development.
