Job of the Week: Work for the Young Ealing Foundation

In the meantime, here's our Job of the Week.
The Young Ealing Foundation is looking for a Membership Development Manager to work four or five days a week.
The job is based in Ealing but home working could also be considered.
Main purpose of the role:
- To develop membership with voluntary groups working with Children and Young People within the borough of Ealing
- To develop engagement and communications with the members and improve the range of services offered to members
- To provide one-to-one fundraising support to members
- To be part of the Senior Management Team and feed into management processes and decisions including line management responsible for management of the monitoring and evaluation framework for Young Ealing Foundation
- Consult on and refine the YEF membership offer according to member feedback
- Manage fit-for-purpose CRM system to capture membership data (Salesforce)
- Research and recruit potential members
- Set up initial 1-2-1 membership visits
- Manage relationships with strategic partners to ensure YEF membership offer does not replicate existing services
- Conduct regular member visits
- Annually review membership offer to ensure it meets members' needs
- Provide content and direction for member newsletters and communications
- Arrange robust programme of member events and training
Fundraising and small grants management:
- Provide one-to-one fundraising support for members to apply for small grants from external sources
- Review, co-ordinate grants panel and process for applications to member's small grants
- Ensure impact reports and monitoring are completed for grants streams
Management:
- Support the implementation and review of the YEF strategy and business plan
- Provide line management support as and when required (currently no direct reports)
- Jointly (with the Fundraising Development Manager) implement and manage the YEF Impact Measurement strategy
- To demonstrate through personal and professional example a commitment to equality of opportunity for all groups and to challenge discrimination, racism, sexism and other forms of unjust behaviour
- Professional experience in a grassroots charity or social enterprise
- Knowledge and understanding of youth work principles and practice
- Partnership working with voluntary and community groups and public sector organisations
- Developing databases and managing CRM systems (Salesforce experience desireable)
Skills:
- Strong relationship management and great interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to people at all levels
- Highly organised and able to manage a varied workload
- Ability to work flexibly across a wide range of tasks
- Ability to use initiative and work autonomously
- Competent using MS Office products
Knowledge:
- In depth knowledge of community and voluntary sector services and the challenges they face
- Understanding of national and local initiatives in children and young people's services and how these impact on small voluntary sector groups
- Knowledge and understanding of organisational management for charities
Other:
- Demonstrable commitment to supporting cultural competency
- A passion for effecting positive change for Children and Young people
- Ability to model a culture of high performance and continuous learning, placing the highest duty to children, young people and families at the centre of decision making at all times
- Willingness to pitch in to tasks outside the job description when required and to work outside of core office hours (evenings and weekends) as and when the need arises
