AN Ealing author has released a children's book about protecting the environment, just in time for Christmas.

Isabel Davis has worked as a teacher for more than 25 years, but is also a book author and illustrator.

She has just released a new early years children's book called Froggit Froggins.

The story revolves around Froggit's search for his dreamy, dream pond and how the harmful effects of human littering affect local wildlife.

Davis told Nub News: "I wanted to get the message across to children at a young age that protecting the environment is very important, the subject is very dear to me.

"In the nicest and most informative way it'll help them remember the plight of Froggit and that animals are vulnerable and need our protection."

Another theme that runs throughout the book that is important to Davis is that no matter how small you think you are, you're never too small to help.

The mum-of-one said: "Florrie the dragonfly thinks she's too small to help, but ends up helping to save the lives of the other animals.

"I want children to always have the message that you're never too small to help and that if we all work together, we can make a difference.

"The story's happy ending gives hope that we can save our planet."

Davis, who grew up in West Ealing and currently lives in Hanwell started writing the book a year ago.

The author also does her own illustrations, which she says benefited due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Because I didn't have as many outside distractions, I focused all my time on work and doing my illustrations.

"One of the positives of the pandemic is that people have taken a step back and connected more with nature, they've stopped living these super fast lives and appreciate the little things more, which is so important if we want to protect our beautiful planet."

Froggit Froggins is out tomorrow on Amazon, Waterstones and Barnes & Noble for £10.99.
