Ealing Learning Partnership has been recognised with an award at the Pearson National Teaching Awards.

The programme, which unites the council and 85 of the borough's schools in delivering educational excellence, was picked up the Silver Award for Impact through Partnership.

Selected from thousands of nominees, the win highlights the impact the partnership has on shaping the lives of the young people in their care says Ealing Council.

The collaboration unites school and council staff across the borough in their mission to drive educational excellence, tackle inequalities and deliver better outcomes for all children and young people in pursuit of its vision: No learner left behind: no school left behind. 

More than 40 school leaders contribute their time to shape and deliver activity on behalf of all young learners in the borough, area-wide priorities and schools' needs.

The Pearson Silver award recognises Ealing Learning Partnership as one of the leaders in educational excellence in the UK. 

Julie Lewis, director of Learning Standards and School Partnerships at Ealing Council, said: "It is the conviction of our schools and the dedication of individual leaders who contribute directly to Ealing Learning Partnership's aims, and who believe in our mission, that has resulted in this award. 

"This supportive network of brilliant educators do not just care about the performance of their own school or the outcomes of the pupils they teach; they care about all of Ealing's children and young people.

"I am delighted that we have achieved this recognition".

Ealing Learning Partnership is one of 102 deserving teachers, lecturers, leaders, support staff and institutions named as silver winners in this year's awards.

"They will now be in the running for the coveted Gold Award, which will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony later in the year. 

The announcement comes as celebrities, students and schools across the UK are today paying tribute to all those who work in education to mark National Thank a Teacher Day, which celebrates the whole education community and shines a light on the exceptional impact they have on shaping young lives.   

National Thank a Teacher Day and the Pearson National Teaching Awards are run by the Teaching Awards Trust, an independent charity established more than 25 years ago to celebrate the transformative impact of education, shining a spotlight on the pivotal roles teachers, support staff, colleges, schools and early years' educators play in inspiring young people, every single day.
