1. London Wall - The Questors Theatre

About: After accepting a role as a typist in a solicitor's office, fresh-faced Pat is soon exposed to the harsh reality of the 1930s workplace – and specifically the attentions of slimy Office Manager, Brewer.

Gender and sex politics come to the fore in John Van Druten's prescient comedy.

Revived by the Finborough in 2013, The Guardian's four-star review described London Wall as a play "with a social purpose" that "still has some pertinent things" to say about "sexual double standards and the exploitation of women."

When: 13 to 20 July.

Where: 12 Mattock Ln, London W5 5BQ

Price: See website for prices

More information here.

2. Ealing Choral Society Summer Concert

About: A fizzy study in contrasts for the summer. 'Missa Tiburtina', Giles Swayne's angry setting of the Mass is a statement on how humanity is destroying our world and ignoring the poor.

Interspersed with selections from Thomas Tallis' 'Tunes from Archbishop Parker's Psalter', the simple psalm settings take the audience on a deeper journey through the work.

The second half of the concert mirrors the first but in a lighter vein. Chilcott's Little Jazz Mass for choir, double bass and piano is followed by jazz composer George Shearing's settings of songs and sonnets from Shakespeare.

When: Sat, 22 June. 7:30pm.

Where: St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane, Ealing W5 1QG

Price: See website.
