Hanwell missed the chance to go second in the Southern League Premier South as they were held to a 1-1 draw away at Bracknell Town.

Bracknell took an early lead from the penalty spot, before Calum Duffy tucked home the equaliser right before the half hour mark.

Following a quick turnaround from their Saturday matches, both teams were a bit sluggish and were happy to settle for a point.

The draw sends the Geordies above Swindon Supermarine in the table, but they had the opportunity to move up to second had they been able to secure all three points.

It took just four minutes for the Robins to open the scoring after Hanwell turned the ball over and Bracknell countered swiftly and won a penalty which Jordan Esprit dutifully converted.

Then on 29 minutes Hanwell got back on terms, Dwayne Duncan linked up with Isaac Olorunfemi to tee up Duffy to finish.

The Geordies now move on as they shift their attention to the FA Cup third qualifying round with the mammoth task of taking on Ebbsfleet United, who have won nine from nine in the National League South so far this season.
