Opinion - Lib Dems want to hear your views on crime and anti-social behaviour
Councillor Gary Malcolm
The crime levels in Ealing are too high and many people are afraid of anti-social behaviour especially in the late evenings.
The Liberal Democrats, the opposition in Ealing, are keen to hear your views and experiences on crime and antisocial behaviour across the borough, including disabled blue badge thefts.
Please click to complete the survey, it will only take a few minutes. The Liberal Democrat councillors can then approach the council and the Police with suggestions for action.
Liberal Democrats have delivered a number of positive outcomes to make Ealing safer, including:
- Councillor Connie Hersch successfully reversed Ealing Labour's street light dimming policy so that our streets are better lit at night resulting in safer streets.
- Councillor Athena Zissimos successfully worked with the Police and the Council's Street Enforcement Team to get abandoned cars removed in Hanger Hill reducing antisocial behaviour.
- Councillor Connie Hersch met with the Police Borough Commander for Ealing to discuss the Metropolitan Police's turnaround plan to change the culture of the organisation and improve standards.
- Councillors Gary Malcolm and Connie Hersch took up the concerns of residents in Hanwell by meeting the Neighbourhood Policing Team on a walk around to learn how the Police are tackling anti-social behaviour and drug dealing behaviour in the area.
Liberal Democrat Councillor Connie Hersch, Opposition Spokesperson on Communities, Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour said: "Liberal Democrats are aware that residents are feeling vulnerable, want to feel safer when out in Ealing and concerned for their property at home.
"We are keen to listen to your views and experiences of policing, crime and anti-social behaviour across Ealing so we can speak to the police and Ealing Council to make recommendations to them about how they can reduce crime especially in hot spot areas."
