COLDERSHAW and Midhurst Traffic Action Group (CAMTAG) has published the results of its interim survey on the revised Experimental Traffic Order (ETO) for LTN21.

Launched on March 29 – when COVID restrictions were first eased – 80 volunteers distributed nearly 6,000 leaflets to local residents inside Ealing's largest Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) in West Ealing/Northfields.

Out of the 5,807 leaflets that were distributed, there were 1,360 responses, which equate to 23% participation.

As part of these responses, 78% said they wish the LTN21 road changes be removed, whereas 19% said they wished them to remain.

76% of participants said their area is now worse place to live.

Views differ from one sector to another, with one sector - on the north west corner of the LTN - evenly split on retaining the scheme.

This interim survey will be followed by a full survey, which will take place during June and July.

CAMTAG is anticipating a higher level of participation in that survey as it will conduct door-to-door questionnaire visits, as well as facilitating postal and online submissions.

CAMTAG was founded in August by residents within LTN21 who were of the belief that the scheme was badly designed and could have a seriously adverse effect on the neighbourhood and actually increase congestion and pollution.

An anti-LTN protest march is due to take place this Saturday (April 24) at 3pm, starting at Blondin Park and finishing at Perceval House.
