LOW Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) were introduced throughout Ealing Borough last summer and since then have caused much division locally, with some people supporting their introduction, while others are against it.

One such example is One Ealing, a group of residents that are anti-LTNs.

Last September they organised a COVID compliant protest march through Ealing, which managed to attract around 3,000 protesters - according to the group's estimations.

Following two national lockdowns and now with restrictions easing, One Ealing has decided to organise another protest march, for next Saturday, April 24.

The march is due to start at 3pm at Blondin Park and will pass through Northfield Avenue, onto Uxbridge Road and finish in front of Perceval House, which is where Ealing Council is based.

The organisers are stressing that the march will be COVID compliant, as people are asked to wear face masks (unless exempt) and maintain social distancing.

The event will be family friendly, with children and dogs being welcome.

There is also a call for volunteer marshals who will help gather people into groups and be people's point of contact along the route.

Marshals who can come with their bikes and cycle alongside the march are particularly encouraged to volunteer as they can help move the crowd along safely.

An event has also been set up on Facebook in order to keep people up to date with any changes.

The LTNs are still part of a trial period and as such Ealing Council has a consultation under way, where residents can make their voices heard.
