Victim of fatal stabbing in Ealing named by detectives

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Ealing have named the victim as 58-year-old Wayne Phillips who was from West Hampstead.

Police were called late on Saturday (23 July) to the Star & Scorpion pub on Uxbridge Road where a man had been stabbed.

Officers attended along with ambulance colleagues and Mr Phillips was found in a critical condition. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to have been blood loss and stab wound to the heart.

A 58-year-old man remains in custody charged with murder.
