ONLY two Wetherspoon pubs in Ealing Borough will reopen on April 12.

Government rules mean that only outdoor hospitality can operate before May 17.

This means that The Red Lion & Pineapple in Acton and The Greenwood Hotel in Northolt will be the only Spoons open in the borough.

The Sir Michael Balcon in Ealing Broadway on the other hand will remain closed.

Less than half of Spoons pubs nationwide - 394 out of 872 - will reopen in April and will serve a 'reduced menu'.

The 'reduced menu' will feature breakfast, burgers, pizza, deli deals, fish and chips and 'British classics'.

Customers will be able to order and pay through the Wetherspoons app, although staff will be able to take orders and payment at the table from those without the app.

Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: "We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs."
