1.Medea - The Questors Theatre

About: Medea is wife to Jason. She was instrumental in his quest for the fleece, even killing her own brother. She now lives in exile where she has borne him two sons.

When he abandons her for a new wife Medea faces banishment. She begs for one day's grace. Time enough to exact an appalling revenge.

Amidst the tragedy of Ben Power's forceful adaptation, we see in Medea "a recognisable human being, alive with contradictions" (The Guardian, 2014).

This feminist retelling of Euripides' classic asks us difficult questions about gender, motherhood, and whether we can ever empathise with people who do terrible things.

When: Fri, 31 May to Sat, 8 June

Where: 12 Mattock Ln, London W5 5BQ

Price: See website for prices

More information here.

2. Brentford Soul Allstars

About: We're back at the Lord Nelson for another night of top Soul, Funk, Jazz, Disco and more

These nights are normally total roadblocks so get there super early

This time round we've got the incredible SAM TWEAKS as our special guest. This guy has the skills to pay the bills and the records to go with out. Trust us, he's worth coming to see!

As we've got older we figured its time to put on a low key night in our local area. But the nights haven't turned out to be low key! Seems alot of people in West London remember the great Breakin Bread nights of the past and the dancefloor has gone crazy for back to back classics from the new and old school

You're in for a great night out in a decent pub with good people, good vibes and top notch music!

When: Fri, 7 June, 7pm to 1am.

Where: The Lord Nelson, 9-11 Enfield Road, Brentford, TW8 9, United Kingdom

Price: Free!
