Ealing: New proposals to turn a two-storey home into flats
A planning application has been submitted to Ealing Council to convert a two-storey property into new flats.
The planning application, which was previously refused in September 2023, proposes to convert the property into six new flats.
This comes as a previous proposal of the house being converted into eight flats being refused.
The property situated on the west side of Gunnersbury Avenue in Ealing would be converted to four one-bedroom, one two-bedroom and one three-bedroom flats with private and communal space, cycle and waste storage and off-street parking.
Similar conversions have already taken place in the residential area.
There were 13 other proposals of properties being converted to flats which were granted. Including three properties that were converted into nine flats.
Developers, Ace Engineering Solutions say: "The proposal to provide five additional residential units would make a modest contribution towards both Borough specific and London-wide strategic housing targets."
The area is already mainly residential, and the planning application says: "The proposal is compliant with sustainable development.
"There will be no adverse impact on neighbouring amenities or the street scene.
"It has been designed to complement and enhance the existing building and the current street scene."
It adds: "The proposed application being submitted provides the opportunity to develop an existing building which is in an excellent location and provide new high-quality homes suited to the needs of the Borough."
If approved, work is expected to commence in November of this year and will cost up to £2m.
