A six-year-old boy from Ealing has started a thriving business venture selling seedlings to locals.

The innovative idea came about when young Aditya (Adi) was being home schooled during lockdown.

His mum, told Nub News: "With the extra time on our hands we wanted to do something interesting which we don't ordinarily do.

"As his father has a business, we thought it would be a good idea to start one too.

"So, we started a keychain business, but that didn't take off.

"We then thought as Adi is a really keen gardener, we could start a business selling seedlings, so we decided to order some tomato seeds online and he then potted them all up himself."

The business venture has shown to be extremely popular among Ealing residents and with the help of his mum, Adi has so far raised £142 for the Felix Project, which is a charity that aims to reduce food waste.

When Adi heard about the charity through his school, he wanted to find a way where he could help too.

Adi's mum added: "The business venture has had a really positive response from the people in Ealing.

"People have been amazing, really really lovely and so supportive.

"Adi loves the plants, so he just starts chatting away when people start talking to him, it's great to see."

Adi sells a range of seedlings varying from mint, basil, green beans, squash, strawberries and he recently planted some chilli seeds with his grandad, so he may even have some chilli seedlings in the next few weeks too.

Adi told Nub News: "I enjoy growing the plants because it's fun and in the future I would like to be either a chef or a football coach".

If you're interested in buying some seedlings from Adi and his mum, you will find them on the corner of Hillcrest and Park View Road near St Augustine's Priory, usually from 11am-1pm on a Sunday, weather permitting.
