Perivale Park Golf Club (PPGC) have created new plans which would integrate the golf course into Ealing's Regional Park scheme.

The council proposes to create a new regional park in Ealing, the first in west London, which would include green spaces and sports facilities.

It will also mean "changing the use of the land that Perivale Golf Course is currently on" so that residents can use the space apart from just golf.

In its latest blog post, the golf club has suggested ideas which would see the golf club and new regional park coexist.

PPGC said: "We are suggesting more trees be planted on the course. We like Ealing's idea of mini urban forests and can see three areas where new trees can be properly protected and cared for.

"We have no objections at all to many more trees on the course as long as we can still play golf.

"We have identified ways of increasing rewilded space on the course by narrowing fairways (green lines on our map above)

"We are suggesting parts of the course that could be used for more family-friendly activities (red shaded areas on map)."

An Ealing Council spokesman has previously said: "We are proposing to review the use of the land that Perivale Golf Course is currently on, so that it can become a new fully accessible park, giving more people more access to a well-designed green space.

"We know some people living near to Perivale Golf Course enjoy playing golf there, and we have met with some of the golf club members to explain the proposal and reasons behind it.

"We thank Perivale Golf Club members for the time they have spent with us.

"No decision has been made yet to close the golf course and the council has not yet made any proposals about which sports facilities will be included in the new park.

"We will continue to consult extensively with residents, local groups, and expert organisations, who can share their views on the proposals."

On the ideas PPGC suggest, it added: "This involves some innovative changes, but we believe these are essential steps towards a sustainable, inclusive future for our beloved golf course.

"PPGC understand that change can be challenging, but we're committed to ensuring that these changes benefit everyone – golfers, community members, and the environment alike."

The council believes Ealing's regional park could be as transformative for west London as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has been for east London.

Public consultation of west London's first regional park closes on 19 December.
