Back in September, the leader of the council, Peter Mason, launched a Christmas card competition for all school children in Ealing, and the results are in.

The council received many entries from across the borough, judging has taken place, and cards designed by local young people will soon be delivered across the borough and beyond.

Winners in each of the three age categories have been chosen, with an overall winner.

The winners:

Winner six years and under, and overall winner, Sherin Shahzad, six-years-old, Dairy Meadow Primary School.

Sherin's design will be on the front of the leader of the council's Christmas card this year, and he is going to be visiting her at her school at a special assembly.

Councillor Mason commented: "Once again the young people of Ealing have done us proud and shown that they are budding artists and our creatives of the future.

"The theme this year of 'Christmas in the park' was well represented and resulted in joyful scenes of celebration of our parks and green spaces.

"Congratulations and thank you to all the young people who sent in their designs – choosing the winners was very tough this year".
