An Ealing councillor is continuing to press for more positivie and fairer action from the borough council after residents in Hanger Hill were issued parking tickets when driving near to the school street scheme at the Holy Family School, Vale Lane, Acton

Hanger Hill Liberal Democrat councillor Athena Zissimos beleives the drivers are being unfairly punished becasue the signs indicating a scheme is in place are not clear due to large tree branches blocking the signage.

Recently Ealing Council had multiple parking tickets rejected by the parking adjudicator.

Cllr Zissimos has worked for months to get Ealing Council to make the signs around the school on the Hanger Hill Garden Estate clearer and more visible and has been frustrated by the lack of engagement by the Labour-run authority.

She said: "Liberal Democrats say that drivers continue to be completely unaware, they had crossed into a school street until the penalty notice arrived in the post, despite assurances by the council that the signage was sufficient.

"It now appears that the council has now decided that it needs to cut back foliage and improve the signs on approach to the Holy Family School. Liberal Democrats say that until we see the changes we will not believe their promises. We will hold their feet to the flames."
