IF you have walked around Ealing lately, you'll have noticed a giant teddy bear on Ealing Green.

The bear was put up by Make It Ealing (MIE), a company dedicated to supporting local businesses in Ealing Broadway.

It's a gift to the local community from the approximately 400 businesses they represent and has become a real hit with children.

Nica Cornell is the person responsible for running MIE's media and website and she told Nub News: "Children love our teddy bear, they just want to go grab him and take pictures with him."

Although he is a gift to the local community, MIE are kindly asking for people to donate what they can, with all donations going to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Cornell said: "Teddy is friends with the giant snowman in Eastcote who's also raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital."

The bear was first introduced in Ealing for Valentine's Day and MIE thought it would be a good idea to bring him back for Christmas.

"Teddy was up in Eastcote last year and raised a lot of money in a very short period of time, so we thought it would be a good idea to replicate that, especially since the people of Ealing had warmed to him on Valentine's Day," she added.

People are encouraged to donate by scanning the QR codes that are next to the teddy on the Green.
