A UNIVERSITY of West London (UWL) student who lives in Ealing is trying to raise awareness among other university students for the Mayor's Entrepreneur Scheme.
Fin Hampton studies health at UWL and is one of the 36 interns for the Greater London Authority, across all London based universities.
Part of his job is to 'bring attention' to the Mayor's Entrepreneur Scheme and encourage as many university students to apply as possible.
He told Nub News: "I'm interested in business and entrepreneurship, so I thought this would be something really cool to get involved with."
Students from all London universities who have a business idea are encouraged to apply in order to stand a chance of winning one of the five cash prizes on offer.
"The concept is kind of similar to Dragon's Den where they have to pitch their business ideas to the judges panel.
"The businesses don't need to be up and running; ideas with a business plan are also welcome and are treated with the same weight," said the 23-year-old.
Five winners are chosen and they each receive a £20,000 award.
Last year's scheme saw 514 applicants, which means that just under 1 in 100 applicants is successful.
Fin, who lives in South Ealing added: "If you've got a solid plan, it's worth applying, these are good odds, it's realistic that you can win.
"But even if you don't win, the exposure and networking that you get is well worth it."
Deadline for applications is next Sunday, April 18; to apply, click HERE.
