Pesky non-recyclable items can avoid landfill in Ealing thanks to a new service launched by TerraCycle and the council.

For the next six months, residents can recycle unrecyclable products at the Greenford re-use and recycling centre.

Recycling company TerraCycle is known for using innovative methods to recycle notoriously hard-to-recycle products contributing to a global waste crisis.

Pringles tubes, flexible coffee packaging, dental care products and biscuit, cracker and snack wrappers are just a handful of "non-recyclable" items that Ealing residents can take to the centre.

Pringles packets are notoriously unrecyclable

From Greenford, the waste will be taken away to be cleaned, shredded and turned into plastic pellets to create new plastic products.

How to recycle your non-recyclables?

1.     Collect product packaging you would normally throw into your waste bin at home

2.     Request free recycling labels using the form here

3.     Stick your label to a plastic bag (preferably a clear one, but any will do)

4.     Book a time slot for your visit to Greenford re-use and recycling centre

5.     Drop off the full plastic bag at Greenford re-use and recycling centre

Pedestrians are not permitted to the recycling centre but if you want to make the most of this service, why not speak with your neighbours and see if someone with a car would like to collaborate efforts?
