POLICE are appealing to the public for information following an arson attack that took place at a shop in Hanwell.

Police and the Fire Brigade were called on June 7 at around 7:40pm to Hanwell News on Uxbridge Road, to reports of a fire.

Three suspects entered the premises and poured a flammable liquid and ignited it inside the shop, while staff were still inside the premises.

The suspects then fled the scene, in the direction towards Boston Road.

They are described as being two white males, one Asian male, aged between 16-24 years old and were wearing masks.

Two men were treated at the scene by paramedics and one of them was taken to hospital.

DC Ashleigh Nelson, West Area CID said: "We are requesting the public's assistance for more information about this incident.

"This was a terrifying ordeal as the staff were inside the shop, when the suspects started the fire.

"If you know who was involved, I urge you to come forward with any information that you may have."

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, or tweet @MetCC and quote the reference number CAD 7038/07JUN.
