FRIDAY (June 25) was the opening day for Julian Opie's exhibition at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery.

Ealing Nub News was invited to attend and enjoy what this new exhibition had to offer.

Opie has created sculptures, LED animations, light box paintings and films that focus on people, buildings and animals.

The works create their own landscape, a walk-through environment like a computer game, or a journey through a city, inspired by a French town.

Some of the images are animated and others animate as visitors wander around or through them.

The exhibition features 14 works, including eight metal sculptures, with work also on display outside the gallery, in Walpole Park.

Lots of local residents attended the opening day, excited to see the work on display.

Theatre Director, Anastasia Revi, was one of them and she told Ealing Nub News: "The exhibition was fantastic, I really enjoyed it.

"It genuinely made me feel as if I was walking through a French town and felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast was going to pop out of a window at any moment.

"We're so lucky to have such an artistic treasure on our doorstep [Pitzhanger] and its exhibitions."

Julian Opie's exhibition will run until October 24.

Tickets cost £7, with Ealing residents receiving a concession price of £4.50.

Pitzhanger is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm, excluding Thursdays when it closes at 7pm.
