EALING Gin has managed to win two gold medals in two separate international drinks competitions.

The gin was only launched in 2019 by husband and wife, Simon and Amanda Duncan, and has now received international recognition.

The judges in the highly prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) awarded gold medals to just 12 of the 350 gins in the Classic London Dry category and Ealing Gin scooped up one of those golds with a score of 95 points.

Amanda said: "We re-worked and refined our recipe many times before settling on the final one.

"We wanted something genuinely distinctive that combined both classical and more modern notes.

"Above all, however, we wanted deep flavours, beautifully balanced – a wonderfully smooth and pleasing drinking experience.

"We couldn't be more delighted that the IWSC judges agree we've achieved that!"

The judges noted: "Juicy citrus, floral, camomile and juniper clearly coming through on the aromas in the nose.

"Botanicals layering on the palate with pine and juniper at the forefront combining with citrus.

"Good balance and classical flavours displayed in this spirit."

Ealing Gin didn't stop there however, having also won recognition in the highly esteemed Spirits Business Gin Masters 2021.

470 gins from around the world had entered, doubling in size compared to the year before.

Ealing Gin was awarded a gold medal in the Ultra Premium category.

Duncan said: "This is probably the most exciting week we've had since we launched, it hasn't been easy this last year or so, but it is so exciting and fulfilling to get this type of recognition from the very best people in the industry.

"We have big ambitions for Ealing Gin and these accolades are definitely going to help us achieve them."
