EALING has seen a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases for the second consecutive week.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 12% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of July 26 to August 1, Ealing saw 1,033 new positive cases, compared to 1,177 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 12.2%, with 144 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 303.5, compared to 344.3 the week before.

Those figures are now higher than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 23,750 new cases during the week of July 26 to August 1, which represents 263.8 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 159,279 new cases during the same week, correlating to 281.7 cases per 100,000 people.
