The owner of a popular Indian restaurant in Ealing was overjoyed to receive a further two awards in a ceremony last night celebrating the work of small businesses.

Haweli on the Uxbridge Road received a 'Best Chef Award' and a 'Best Businessman of the Year Award' for curry establishments in Middlesex.

Haweli had already won a national customer choice award last month at the CurryLife Awards, recognised by the "people who matter most".

Owner Manik Miah picked up his awards last night at the Euro Asia Curry Award 2021 gala dinner and ceremony, attended by 500 people at Mayfair Venu, Romford.

He told Nub News: "I am extremely happy with the restaurant being awarded again in a very short time, it shows customers are happy and our chefs are great.

"Getting the best businessman of the year award just made my day and the 2021 nice ending, after all the difficulties we went through in the pandemic.

"I just want to say thanks to all our customers, staff and suppliers who have been on this journey and we have survived the storm.

"We want to continue for years to come. I am over the moon and want to say thank you to Mr Shorif Khan who awarded us and recognised our hard work in hospitality."

On a winning streak, the restaurant also received a COVID Curry Hero Award by the Curry Life Magazine for their community work during the coronavirus pandemic last year.

Euro Asia Curry Award is an annual ceremony dedicated and committed in celebrating the success of the curry industry and the people behind it.

The award ceremony was established by Shorif Khan in 2015.

Shorif told Nub News about Haweli: "We were looking for the real curry house. It was a good one, a very hard working one, the chef is fantastic and it was this year's best."

Find Haweli at 127-129 Uxbridge Road, Ealing W13 9AU.
