Award-winning advent window displays return to Ealing in the run-up to Christmas
The popular Olde Hanwell Advent Windows project will return this winter to light up the streets of Ealing with festive decorated windows.
Olde Hanwell will gradually light up throughout December as each day from the 1st to 24th of the month a new set of windows will be decorated and lit by residents.
Once revealed, the windows will remain lit for the remainder of the period as new windows are revealed each night.
The windows then form a trail for everyone to spot new additions and bring a bit of light and joy to our neighbourhood.
Organiser Anna Elliott said: "This is the second year of the initiative and is set to be another excellent display for locals and visitors alike."
There are 150 homes taking part so far across 16 streets around Olde Hanwell, including local businesses like the Dodo and The Fox.
Last year the Hanwell display bagged second place in the Illumination Street national competition for Best Community Display, winning £200 worth of British Garden Centres vouchers.
The vouchers were then gifted to the Ealing, Katherine Buchan Meadow Trust who used the money to plant 1,000 bulbs, which will bloom next Spring.
The Ealing light display will be entering again this year and it's not too late for local residents to join the scheme.
It is free to join in and free to view the trail every night.
This year, they are encouraging visitors who enjoy the display to help raise much needed funds for Ealing Foodbank.
You can text WINDOWS to 70450 to donate £2.00 (Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message).
