If your car is looking less than pristine with mud-splattered wheels, a dusty bonnet and pile of empty pringle packets accumulated on the back seats that it would take one brave soul to tackle, you're in luck.

Firefighters at Acton Fire Station promise to extinguish that fire of filth and save residents from their least favourite Sunday afternoon chore at its charity car wash.

Hosted this weekend to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity, the event is also a chance for Ealing residents to meet their local lifesavers and learn how fire risks in the community are being managed.

Founded during the Second World War to support the bereaved families of firefighters who died during the Blitz, The Fire Fighters Charity has for over 75 years honoured the bravery and sacrifice of people in the UK fire services community.

Donations made at the Acton Fire Station car wash will go towards helping serving, retired or dependant firefighters achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing.

To meet your local heroes as they hose down those unacceptably filthy wheels, drive to Acton Fire Station, 27 Gunnersbury Lane, Acton, W3 8EA, on Sunday, June 26th between 12-3pm.
