Goals late in both halves sees Hanwell Town defeated 2-0 by play-off chasing Poole Town in the Southern League Premier South.
Wes Fogden turned home late in the first half from a cross to give the side occupying the last play-off place the lead.
Then as Hanwell were chasing an equaliser late into the game, Toby Holmes scored on the counter attack to confirm the three points for the Dolphins.
The Geordies' sixth defeat in their last nine matches means they are mathematically out of play-off contention with six games to play, but are still 11 points clear of the drop zone.
Poole could have taken the lead inside ten minutes as Fogden looked to bend a shot into the top corner, but his effort took a nick off a defender and flicked over the crossbar.
Luke Cairney pulled off a fine double save in the Dolphins goal to keep the game level as Kain Adom skipped beyond a full-back and found Mat MacKenzie in the middle, his header was parried out and then Cairney got up to deny Tom McElroy.
After 14 minutes Hanwell worked the ball nicely with quick passes into the final third and it ended with Isaac Olorunfemi taking a shot which flashed just wide of the post.
Marcus Daws lined up a free-kick for Poole and his shot dipped low over the wall and skimmed off the top of the crossbar as it arrowed over and behind for a goal kick.
With five minutes remaining in the half Daws had another free-kick and this time he came even closer; Revan Constable was rooted to the spot as his effort crashed against the post and bounced to safety.
Daws did not get frustrated by his bad luck with the woodwork as just a minute later he drove down the wing and flashed a ball low into the middle where Fogden prodded it beyond Constable and into the back of the net.
Fogden had a chance to double his and his team's tally for the evening as he charged away on the counter attack, but the defender covered back at a rate of knots and made a fine recovery challenge to deny him.
Just before the hour mark MacKenzie had a great solo run to get him into space down the side of the box and his effort went just wide of the target from a tight angle.
Keano Robinson came up from the back for a corner and he got free around the back, but couldn't get over the delivery and his header went over the top.
Deep into second half stoppage time, the Geordies had committed a lot of bodies forward and as an attack broke down, Holmes ran down the field and slotted the ball across Constable and into the far corner of the net.
