EALING Police announced a woman was sentenced with assault by beating, theft and assault on an emergency service worker following a police chase down Acton High Street last month.

Aisha Kourouma, 23, of no fixed abode was found guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates Court and sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment.

Police were called to reports of a robbery in Mill Hill Grove, Acton on Tuesday 31 August.

The victim told officers at the scene that Kourouma had asked her for money and begun to pat her down.

After discovering the victim had £5 in her hand in the pocket of her hooded top, Kourouma proceeded to bite down on the victim's hand to release the grip and take the money.

Officers were provided with a description of the suspect and spotted her on Acton High Street where she ran away, leading to a police chase down Park Road North then onto Hope Gardens.

The defendant then climbed on top of a shipping container, before she eventually came down and was arrested.

During the arrest, the defendant kicked at an officer and was subsequently arrested for assault on an emergency service worker and taken to Hammersmith Police Station.
