Events coming up in Ealing

Thursday: The Silver Jubilees of George V and Elizabeth II

In 1935 and 1977 the silver jubilees of these two monarchs were celebrated in Ealing as elsewhere.

Local historian Jonathan Oates in his talk at 5.30pm on Thursday (June 30) examines the different ways in which these events were marked locally and how inhabitants reacted.

Hosed at Ealing Central Library 103 Ealing Broadway Centre. 

Thursday: Celebrating Slovenian Poetry

Join OPEN Ealing at 7pm on Thursday (June 30) where contemporary Slovenian poets will present brand new performance collaborations with British-based poets.

The poets perform in pairs and have created work for the free event.

A celebration of a new generation of Slovenian poets as well as a unique showcase of collaboration in poetry, this event will also see the launch of Found & Lost by Laura Davis and Gongfarmer, I love thee by Bob Brightt.

Friday: Live Music at The Hanwell Cavern

The Hanwell Cavern will on Friday evening welcome three new acts: The Molotovs, Little Lore and Woodstock.

Doors open at 7:30pm, with advance ticket purchase only through Eventbrite to this BYOB event.

Friday: Jubilee Panto Quiz Night

The Ministry Team invites you to a Jubilee Panto Quiz Night in the beautiful atmosphere of St Barnabas Church.

Join the Fairy Godmother (vicar), Ugly Sister (ordinand) and Prince Charming (curate) for a quiz experience that will test your royal trivia and bring you belly laughs.

Tables hold 8-10 people and tickets, £15 per person, include a meal of coronation chicken and pudding or vegan option.

Saturday: Ealing Croquet - Pay & Play

Croquet is a fascinating and fun sport ideally suited for families and friends of all ages and abilities to play together.

There is no need to have played previously, club volunteers at the Lammas Park Pavilion will be on hand to help you get the most from your session.

Sessions last one hour and cost £6 per person for the hour. Max 8 per booking and advance booking is essential.

Sunday: Ealing Cycling Campaign - Morden Hall Park & Wandle Trail Leisurely Ride

Meet outside Ealing Town Hall from 9.45am for a 10am departure. We should return to Ealing by approx. 4pm. 

A slightly longer ride (50km/30 miles) heading out through Fulham to cross the river at Wandsworth Bridge and join the traffic free Wandle Trail to Morden Hall Park for a lunch stop.

The return ride is on quiet roads through Merton, Southfields, Putney, and Barnes, crossing back over the river at Chiswick Bridge to return to Ealing.

Sunday: Northfield Allotment Open Day

Northfields Allotments open day for everyone to come and have a look around this beautiful green site. Cake stall, BBQ, children's activities, plant stall, produce stall and more.

Sunday: The Problem With Our Air

London's air is chronically polluted. The air in Ealing regularly exceeds World Health Organisation limits for pollution, and is linked to increasing cases of Asthma, Lung and Heart disease, and thousands of deaths each year.

At this event, we ask what can be done, and hear from campaigners working to clean our air.
