Events coming up in Ealing

Thursday: A walk along the River Brent

Meet the Brent River & Canal Society (BRCS) by the entrance of Gurnell Leisure Centre for a walk along the canal to Warren Farm Nature Reserve.

Spend time with like-minded nature lovers and learn about the river's recent history, including vital river restoration and rewilding in Ealing. Expect to see the myriad wonderful wildlife the Brent River supports, including dragonflys, moor hens, coots with their fabulous big blue feet and, with a stroke of luck, the blue flash of a kingfisher.

The walk will be approximately 3.5 miles, after which there will be an exploration of the nature reserve. People are welcome to skip the walk and join at Warren Farm Nature Reserve – meet the group outside the Fox Inn at 8pm.

Friday: Tony Bowen @ The Grosvenor

Located in the heart of Hanwell, The Grosvenor is an Edwardian corner pub with a large beer garden, serving a wide range of craft beers, seasonal ales, premium spirits and fine wines.

On Friday catch live music from Tony Bowen at this charming family pub.

Saturday: The Importance of Being Earnest

To mark 76 years since the Questors Student Group was founded, the theatre brings to Ealing the most highly acclaimed of Oscar Wilde's classics, The Importance of Being Earnest.

Wilde's comic tale follows bachelors Algernon Moncrieff and Jack Worthing as they create alter egos to escape their tedious existence. In an attempt to win the hearts of two young women, they soon get caught up in their own deceit, where the layers of mistaken identity confuse and bewilder all involved.

Featuring some of Wilde's most memorable and eccentric characters, this delightful mockery of Victorian sensibilities has plenty of twists and turns, throwing love, logic and language into the air.

Saturday: FoxMarketW7 – Makers & Vintage Market

Shop from local makers, artists and vintage traders at this friendly outdoor market. The stall line-up varies each month and it's a great opportunity to buy direct from local small businesses.

The market is accessible to wheelchairs and buggies, and dogs are very welcome. There are cycle racks available at the venue and free parking on surrounding streets (no CPZ on Saturdays). Very short walk from the Grand Union Canal.

There is lots of stall holder info available on the market's Instagram: @ foxmarketw7.

Sunday: Ealing Blues Fest 'warm up'

Ahead of London's longest running Blues Festival enjoy The Ealing Blues Fest.

Two of the acts performing are doing an exclusive club date. Robert Hokum & The Great West Groove will feature 2 drummers giving their 'Blues based' music a big rhythmic sound aimed at the feet!

The Vampirettes are a highly theatrical rock band who claim to be the world's only 'undead' all female band.

Watermans Arts Centre is the Ealing Nub News What's On sponsor. Without community-minded partners like Watermans we would not be able to produce the locally-relevant, clickbait-free news to the people of Ealing.
