A man from Feltham, west London who drove a 44-tonne lorry into a holiday park filled with families while 'too drunk to stand' has been jailed.
Janis Rimovics, 50, was more than three times the drink-drive limit when he was arrested by Sussex Police on August 25.
Earlier that day, he had crashed his lorry into a parked car in Pagham, West Sussex - before driving "at speed" into a nearby holiday park "busy with families and children".
Despite there being pedestrians around, Rimovics still attempted to reverse the lorry out of a dead end - but members of the public eventually persuaded him to give up.
Rimovics smelled of alcohol and fell asleep in his vehicle - so police were called to the scene.
Officers found empty vodka bottles inside the cab of his HGV and arrested him for dangerous driving and driving over the alcohol limit.
Rimovics was taken into custody where he provided a breath alcohol reading of 128 microgrammes (μg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres (ml) of breath. The legal limit is 35μg per 100ml.
During his sentencing at Portsmouth Crown Court, Rimovics, from Feltham, west London, was jailed for four months.
He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Speaking after the case, Acting Sergeant Steven Lambeth said: "Rimovics was in charge of a large lorry while more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
"He was in no fit state to drive and was barely able to stand, let alone drive a vehicle, when he arrived in custody.
"Drink-driving is one of the main reasons why people are killed or seriously injured on our roads.
"Rimovics posed a serious risk not only to himself, but to every other road user, he is lucky not to have caused serious harm that night.
"We are pleased that a dangerous driver has been taken off our roads."
