TWO men have been sentenced to prison following a drug bust by police in Greenford.

On March 31, 2020, officers from the Violent Crime Taskforce (VCTF) were on proactive patrol when they saw a car attempt to evade the police.

They followed the car as it drove erratically, before suddenly slowing down, mounting the pavement and colliding with a bus stop.

All four occupants started running away, but the officers managed to detain two of them.

Dominic Elliott, 23, of Westmorland Road, Harrow, was found carrying a screwdriver in his waistband.

Terique Ledgister, 22, of Gilbert Scott Close, Wembley, was found with 32 bags of cocaine and 31 bags of cannabis.

They both pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs and were sentenced on March 5 and February 25 respectively.

They were sentenced to 30 and 37 months imprisonment respectively.

Police Sergeant Ed Ade, of the West Area Drugs Focus Desk said: "This case summarises what the Drugs Focus Desks are all about – prosecuting high harm offenders for drugs supply cases with the aim of reducing violence.

"The actions of the driver and occupants were incredibly risky that day and could have resulted in innocent members of the public being hit by their car, it was lucky no one was in the way."

Inspector Daniel Thompson, of the VCTF, said: "We know a significant proportion of gang related violence, knife crime and serious youth violence is inextricably linked to the supply of drugs.

"Violence remains a real concern for Londoners and counteracting it is our top priority.

"The supply of drugs, including recreational drugs, is contributing to violence on the streets of London.

"By prosecuting these offenders, we hope to prevent future acts of violence.

"My message to Londoners is this – if you have any information about drug dealing or violence in your area, I urge you to contact us or Crimestoppers so that we can act on your information – no detail is too small."
