Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a house fire on Curzon Road in Ealing today (September 11).

The roof of a mid-terrace house was destroyed by the blaze and the roof of an adjoining property was damaged. Ten people left the buildings before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

Station Commander Chris Davidson, who was at the scene, said: "The affected property was empty and unoccupied at the time of the fire and fortunately there were no reports of any injuries.

"Crews worked hard to tackle the fire and limit the damage to surrounding properties."

The Brigade was called at 0419 and the fire was under control by 0648. Fire crews from Ealing, Acton, Park Royal, Wembley and Southall fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
