SUBMISSIONS for Ealing Wildlife Group's annual photography competition have opened and people are encouraged to send in their best snaps of local wildlife.
This will be the groups fifth competition, which aims to celebrate the beauty of Ealing and the talent of local photographers who capture it.
Contestants will be judged most importantly on how the image engages the public with the natural world at a local level in Ealing, not purely on technical abilities.
Judges include, members of Ealing Wildlife Group, Ealing Council Park Rangers as well as amateur and professional photographers.
This year they will have two new categories: Abstract Nature and Community Conservation, offering a chance to get creative and eco-conscious.
All together there are six categories including the Young Wildlife Explorers for under 16s, which celebrates young wildlife enthusiasts.
Last year's overall winner was Steve Morey, who took a lovely photo of a bird poking its head out of a nest in the trunk of a tree.
One of the guidelines is that the photograph must have been taken in the borough of Ealing and within the last five years, with the exact location included in the submission.
The competition is open to all ages and abilities with the winners displayed in Walpole park for a final exhibition.
Closing date for submission is October 13th and the photo exhibition will be on November 13th.
