Strong winds from Storm Bert caused a large tree in Dickens Yard to fall over the weekend, with the council confirming it has since been removed.

Just opposite Gail's Bakery Ealing and bus stop, a tree was reported to have fallen down at around 12pm due to powerful winds from Storm Bert which reached speeds of up to 53mph (miles per hour) in London yesterday (24 November).

There have been no reports of injuries or additional damage and Ealing Council has told Ealing Nub News that it removed the tree this morning (25 November).

An Ealing Council spokesperson said: "A roughly 30-year-old sweet gum tree outside Dickens Yard in Ealing blew down at the weekend.

"It has since been removed. A new tree will be planted to replace it in due course."
