Acton photographer recognised internationally for photos of dogs and cats
Chohee Courtois, an Acton-based photographer, finished second in this year's International Photography Awards in the Pets category.
The International Photography Awards are a group of awards for professional, non-professional and student photographers on a global scale which are awarded annually.
Courtois, who specialises in pet portrait, was runner up for her photograph of a Maine Coon cat and its owner titled 'Soulmates'.
Reacting to the award winning image, Courtois said: "Cat-and-owner relationships fascinate me. Strong bond while keeping each other's independence.
"I wanted to show this subtle yet powerful connection in this image."
Another international recognition Courtois received this year with her image 'Soulmates', is a finalist nomination in the Pets and People category of the International Pet Photography Awards.
She achieved a finalist status in the Action category as well, with a photograph of a dog playing with a ball called 'Choreography of Joy'.
The International Pet Photography Awards is the largest pet photography awards in the world.
This year, more than 3600 images were entered and only the top 10 images in each category reached the Finalist status.
Nationally, Courtois has been shortlisted as a finalist in the British Photography Awards, with another dog photograph titled 'Leaping Mop'.
