South Acton police will increase officer patrols in the area amid a rise in vehicle crime.

Crime data for April reveals violence, miscellaneous theft and harassment as the most common offences committed in South Acton.

However Metropolitan Police data for 2022 reveals Ealing has one of the highest rates of vehicle offences of all London boroughs, which between 2021-22 have together seen vehicle crime decline nearly 5 per cent.

Across Ealing between January and April there were 315 motor vehicles reported stolen and 1,100 thefts from a motor vehicle.

Only Newham, Enfield and Barnet have seen higher rates of vehicle crime.

The South Acton police team on Twitter today (June 7) warned residents of "hotspots" in Acton and said "officers will increase patrols in vehicle crime hotspots when on duty".

 "However most Vehicle break ins happening during the night", it added.

South Acton police advised residents to refrain from leaving valuables inside vehicles and ensure vehicles are locked.
