A POPULAR Ealing pizzeria has opened its newest restaurant.

Pasquale Chionchio and Angelo Ambrosio opened their first Santa Maria pizzeria in Ealing in 2010 and since then have expanded across several locations throughout London.

Last week they opened another restaurant in Ealing, located at 11 Bond Street, relocating from their original venue that was on St Mary's Road.

Pasquale told Ealing Nub News: "Opening the new restaurant in Ealing, it's like a new start, a rebirth, which coincides hopefully with a new life after the pandemic.

"Our first week was overwhelmingly busy, our customers were so happy to have the chance to sit down without waiting ages."

The pair made the decision to move to a bigger venue last year in order to be able to accommodate more customers, but the third lockdown delayed their plans for a Valentine's Day grand opening.

The new venue doesn't mean that they are closing down the original, but they have instead decided to rebrand it into a vegan restaurant, called Vergine Maria.

Pasquale added: "Of course it was emotional, saying goodbye to our original location, but we know it's for the best.

"The original restaurant is where it all started for us and it gave us good karma, we can't just leave it behind.

"We're starting a new project (Vergine Maria) in the same location where we started Santa Maria, it's all come full circle."
