Sculptors, designers and other creatives have been invited to pitch their ideas for funding opportunities following the launch of the Acton and Park Royal Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ).

Ealing council have partnered with Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) to offer more than £100,000 of funding for the best concepts that support the creative industry.

Ideas should respond to one of the following four challenges:

• Creating space

• Developing skills

• Promoting 'place'

• A CEZ network platform.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, the council's cabinet member for decent living incomes, said: "We are lucky to have a great amount of talent in the borough and I was blown away by some of the creations we saw at the CEZ launch last month. We are looking to nurture this talent and give locals more opportunities by offering this funding in partnership with the OPDC.

"This is a really exciting opportunity to share ideas, grow a business and deliver new jobs."

Funding can be used to support a completely new idea or an expansion of an existing project. All the details you need to know are within the CEZ Open Call Prospectus, and ideas should be submitted using the simple online form.

Applications are now open and will close on Friday, 18 November at 5pm.

The CEZ team will be hosting a networking event later this month for anyone interested in submitting an application to ask questions and meet the team. Email [email protected] to receive updates.

Local artist and designer, Yinka Ilori, added: "Park Royal is a unique and vibrant hub where young artists and creatives can express themselves and flourish. The area's new Creative Enterprise Zone status will enable the next generation of talent in west London to start a career in the creative industries, making art and design available for all, by providing training opportunities and essential funding to see new practices grow."
