Osterley Cricket Club (OCC) has put forward a masterplan to redevelop its ground with new pitches, club house and junior pavilion which will enable it to become a "pioneering cricket & football club".

OCC in Tentelow Lane Sports Ground, Southall propose to redevelop its ground following a fire in 2022 which saw OCC's clubhouse destroyed and forced to use temporary provisions.

Established in 1940, the club offers a diverse range of cricket programs, including adult teams, social leagues, and youth development.

With this redevelopment, OCC believe it will allow it to become 'pioneers' in cricket and other sports.

OCC say: "Our vision is to become a pioneering cricket & football club that excels on the field while expanding our horizons to embrace multi-sports.

"By nurturing cricketing brilliance and offering a diverse range of sporting opportunities, we aspire to be a true sporting hub, where individuals of all ages and talents can thrive, united by a passion for sports."

Proposed changes:

  1. The existing changing block will be extended and retrofitted to create a more 'efficient' facility.
  2. Two accessible WCs with external access will be added to the junior pavilion, enabling use of the southern pitch without unlocking the building.
  3. Batting nets with a dedicated equipment store will be installed near the clubhouse and car park, offering 'safer' and more 'convenient' practice facilities.
  4. Redesigned landscaping enhances navigation, wayfinding, and biodiversity, with additional improvements to the public realm beyond the club's lease boundary.
  5. The car park will be optimised with accessible bays, coach parking, EV charging, a safe drop-off area, and grasscrete surfacing to blend with the landscape.
  6. Shipping containers for storage will be relocated to a less visible location, improving the site's appearance.

Between the club's lease boundary and Tentelow Lane (A4127), there is a gravel car park under Ealing Borough Council's control.

While OCC has the right of way, the club say the car park is 'uneven, potholed, and poorly maintained', making access difficult, especially on match days and for those with limited mobility.

The club explain: "Public transport is limited, forcing people with large cricket bags to use cars.

"Additionally, the car park has a history of fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour."

OCC adds: "At the core, these proposals seek to reinstate the clubhouse, and allow for a phased development of the masterplan.

"Ultimately providing the membership and community with a much improved sports and social hub that will stand the test of time and continue to serve Southall and Ealing for decades to come."

The proposals are currently in the consultation phase. To read the full planning application click here.
