Buttercups Nurseries, with eight branches in and around west London including Ealing and Acton, have been voted one of the top 20 nursery providers in the UK for the seventh year running.

This prestigious award is based on parent reviews, all of which are checked and verified by the online review site, Daynurseries.co.uk.

It considers factors like outdoor spaces, facilities, and food and nutrition but it also looks at the overall development of the children.

Founder, Carol Whitehouse, believes Buttercups' educational model which combines three things makes the nursery popular with parents:

• Letting children take the lead in learning
• Giving them lots of opportunities
• Spending plenty of time outdoors.

Ms. Whitehouse says: "The secret is to keep things fresh for the children, piquing their curiosities and inspiring their imaginations."

Buttercups say that the most important factor for parents when looking at the reviews, is the level of care their children receive.

One parent from Buttercups Acton explains: "As soon as you enter, you're enveloped in a sense of belonging, with staff who greet you with genuine care and enthusiasm. The team is not just highly qualified; they're also deeply passionate about fostering the development of each child in their care."

Child development is paramount at Buttercups the nursery provider says. All team members receive ongoing training which gives them enthusiasm and expertise, this in turn keeps activities fresh and engaging for the children.

Child-led learning is prioritised by incorporating educational approaches such as Montessori and HighScope.

"The staff are really caring and plan many fun and varied activities for the children.
