Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant on Peel Road yesterday (Wednesday, 25 May).

The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received 34 calls to the fire which started around 6am.

Nineteen people evacuated the building before the Brigade arrived, all uninjured.

Fire crews from Northolt, Wembley, Harrow, Stanmore and surrounding fire stations had the fire under control by 8.38am and remained at the property throughout the morning damping down pockets of fire.

The restaurant roof and the first floor were destroyed by the blaze, with part of the ground floor also damaged.

What caused the fire is yet to be determined.
